Empowering Minds Through Nutrition: Dr. Joline Fernandes’ Workshop at Government College, Borda

On 11th October 2025, as part of the World Mental Health Month celebration, Dr. Joline Fernandes, a renowned Nutrition and Diet Consultant, was invited by the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise to deliver a talk on “Nutrition and Diet” at Government College, Borda, Margao (Autonomous) - an institution aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The workshop was thoughtfully organised in collaboration with the Counselling, Wellness and Mentoring Cell, Staff Welfare Committee, Student Council, and the Event Planning Cell of the college, with the support of the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise. The aim was to help students and staff understand the deep connection between nutrition and mental well-being — a topic Dr. Joline passionately advocates through her programs and public engagements.

Throughout the session, Dr. Joline emphasised that good nutrition isn’t just about physical health — it’s also the foundation of emotional stability, clarity, productivity, and hormonal balance. With her signature style of blending science with tradition, she inspired the audience to take simple, sustainable steps toward better food choices.

Dr. Joline received an enthusiastic response from the students and faculty alike, who engaged actively in the session and expressed their appreciation with thoughtful questions and warm feedback. The organisers presented her with a symbolic gift — a plant — representing growth, sustainability, and the roots of mindful living that Dr. Joline stands for.

This workshop was a reflection of Dr. Joline’s ongoing mission to empower communities through sensible eating and raise awareness about how the right foods can positively impact not only physical but also mental health.
